Audio Visual expressions, is the main ingredient that makes Caribbean Carnivals the unique festivals that they are.

Wherever you go, the Caribbean, North America, South America or Europe, the Sound of Soca, the Rhythmic expressions of the dancers, the visual of the costumes or the dexterity of the steel pannists, the excitement they generate is infectious.

From various sources, and our own activities, we will try to share some of that spirit with you as we count down to Carnival 2010 in DC which is celebrated the last weekend of June every year. The festivities kick off with the Dimanche Gras show, which features our Kings, Queens and individuals, and is hosted by the DC Caribbean Carnival Committee on June 20th. This year the parade date is June 26th.

Check out some of our favorite music. We will post our Hot Picks Of The Week, seen below and well as our favorite Pan recordings, including the top performances form T&T 2010 Steelband Panorama Finalists. We will update with the latest versions as they become available. We intend to provide you with audio visual and written information to prepare you for the most unique Carnival on the east coast of the USA.
